Manila, Philippines - Known to its freshly baked bread, BreadTalk has issued an apology to its customers after a rat on top of tray of breads was spotted in one of its store in a viral video.
"To our BreadTalk Customers,
"Late last week during mall closure hours, a rat was spotted by a concerned customer in our Pampanga branch.
"Food safety is our most important priority. Upon learning of this incident, we conducted a thorough investigation as to how this situation occurred.
"We then had professionals clean and sterilize the Pampanga branch and the rest of our branches, amplified our pest control screening to prevent pests from entering the stores, and retrained all of our staff to be extra vigilant about prevention.
Thank you to everyone who brought it to our attention. We are very sorry this happened. We will do everything we can to ensure this does not happen again," BreadTalk Philippines said in a statement.
BreadTalk Philippines said it conducted an investigation about the incident.
